ultra Pyrgos ad ostia Tiberina euntibus fuit oppid. cuius antiquam originem indicare voluit Sil. Italicus his versibus, l. 8.
Nec non Argolico dilectum litus Aleso
Alsium, et obsessae campô squalente Fregenae.
Ita legendum, non Fregellae. Strabo l. 5. πολίχνιον, i. e. oppidulum suâ aetate vocat. Α᾿πὸ δὲ Κοςςὼν, inquit, Ω῎ςτια παραπλέουσι πολίχνιά ἐςτι Γραουΐσκιον, καὶ Πύργοι, καὶ Α῎λσιον, καὶ Φρεγηνία. Vide Plin. l. 3. c. 5. Rutilii tempore villam tantum fuisse patet ex hoc disticho:
